It's in the Bag or The Big Squeeze

It’s in the Bag or The Big Squeeze

Most of today has been a logistic puzzle, trying to fit as many outfits as possible into a regulation size suitcase.  And let’s not forget my Obus pillow, which is the geriatric equivalent of my “blankie”.  I just don’t sleep well without it.  The weather in Eastern Canada has been tempermental – just like here – so I need to think in layers, keeping in mind that it could get very warm and humid.  (Oh yeah, now I remember why I didn’t like living in PQ )
We are lucky enough to have house-sitters,  while we are away – our dear friends C and B.  Suddenly, I am self-conscious about my house.  Who would ever look for the popcorn popper in the cupboard with the turkey platter? (C & B take note)  Does everybody have grit on the sides of the dishwasher?  Oh well, too late now.  We are up and away!

Clean, cook, pack

You would hardly think we were going anywhere at all.  Doug has been fishing for two days, friends Cam and Bob have been visiting and I've been in a state of inertia because of the rain.  How can anyone enter into the spirit of travel when it is raining here and raining where you are headed?  Don't worry.  I know that this funk will be replaced by insane preparations in the next 24 hours.  I work better under pressure.
